Cardiff Sights, Sounds and Hotels
On a wooded hillside which you will find 5 miles northwest of Cardiff on the ruins of a medieval fort stands the enchanting Castell Coch, otherwise referred to the Red Castle. William Burges, an especially creative architect of the 19th century designed the castle for the third marquess of Bute. The castle is adorned with pepper-pot turrets and round towers and is full of magical morals, painted vaulted ceilings, lovely friezes, and even an eerie flight of stone steps leading down to a murky dungeon.
Cardiff's Castell Coch and the surrounding countryside make for a wonderful afternoon of exploring and the welcoming Cardiff hotels will make you feel right at home when you return. If you enjoy mystical and medieval flavours, then don't miss out on Cardiff.
