Manchester Sights, Sounds and Hotels
Right in the heart of Manchester city is the Albert Square, memorial to Queen Victoria’s husband. Dominating the square is the Victorian Gothic Town Hall, designed by the well-known architect, Alfred Waterhouse. In the Great hall are 12 murals by Ford Madox Brown depicting the history of Manchester from it’s Roman roots in the 1st century through to the Industrial Era which marked some of the more turbulent times of this city.
If you still have the energy after exploring Manchester by day, then spend your evening trying out the Manchester entertaiment, it leaves little to be desired. If you're still able to get there afterwards, then you will receive special treatment in one of the welcoming Manchester hotels.
